The visit began at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid, on the Montepríncipe campus. This campus houses the Faculty of Medicine and advanced preclinical simulation facilities, where students gain hands-on experience from the early stages of their degrees. The first working session consisted of presentations by both institutions: following an introduction to the CEU San Pablo Foundation and its educational initiatives, Paola Otero (Assistant to the Vice-Rector) presented the university’s main strengths and its strategic lines for future development. Sergio Portal, Director of the Department of Dentistry, outlined the faculty’s current initiatives and the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of Dentistry. The session was supported at all times by the International Relations Office team, including Ana-Ly Tamargo and Verónica Matilla. On behalf of Jinan University, Huang Yue introduced the Chinese university and its distinguished history, and the session concluded with remarks from Shuixing Zhang, who expressed gratitude and proposed a joint work agenda to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.
Next, the group visited the CEU Polyclinic, which offers services in Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Nutrition, guided by its Director, Alicia Martínez González. In this clinic, students gain practical experience by treating real patients in pairs, always under the close and continuous supervision of experienced faculty members. The facility includes 45 dental chairs and cutting-edge radiodiagnostic technology.
The following day, the delegation was received at CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia by Álvaro Antón, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, and his assistants Déborah Chicharro and Jordi López, supported by Mercedes Gimeno, Director of the International Relations Office. After an initial working session in which both institutions were introduced, Alba Jover, Vice Dean of Dentistry at the Valencia campus, explained the curriculum of the Dentistry Degree and the faculty’s main research groups.
Following the exchange of institutional gifts, the visit continued to the facilities of the Faculty of Health Sciences, where the group observed students working in the advanced simulation preclinical lab.
In the afternoon, the delegation toured the Dental Clinic, which features 52 dental chairs and 13 treatment rooms equipped with intraoral radiology, led by Director Cristina Águeda.
Huang Yue, Dean of the School of Stomatology, delivered a masterclass to students and faculty from the Dentistry Degree and the Master’s in Orthodontics on “Combined use of invisible braces and implant-supported anchorage for multidimensional control of dentition”, which was met with outstanding attendance and interest from both students and staff.
